Simulators for the real world

Varicom simulators are built on decades of experience that began with piloted real-time aircraft simulators. Today, Varicom utilizes leading techologies and incorporates features and functionalities that maximize the value derived from each simulation experience. Varicom’s STX suite of simulators serves a wide range of users in various industrial and public sector settings. In addition to the STX suite of simulators Varicom builds custom simulators for logistics, equipment operation, and business processes. The STX simulators are summarized below.

STX RESPONDERTM

STXSTX RESPONDER is an end-to-end incident management simulator allowing leadership, first responders and other workers to each take a “hands-on” role in a 3-D interactive environment. Each user can drive or walk through the scene, assign resources, operate equipment, monitor conditions and perform close-up visual inpsections. Injections, incident severities and environmental conditions vary in real time according to pre-defined rules and/or simulation director inputs.

STX COMMANDERTM

STX Designed for incident leadership, STX COMMANDER focuses on the command, control, decision making and communications aspects of large-scale incidents. STX COMMANDER operates over an intranet or the internet with web 2.0 technologies to give non-collocated users the ability to securely collaborate and manage each simulated incident. For faster progress, incidents can be simulated in real- or accelerated-time and paused for intervening instruction or evaluation. Actions and decisions are logged for after-action evaluation, improvement of crisis management plans, and proscribing training programs.

STX TACTICALTM

STX A web-based learning management solution that allows users to experience scenarios and events in an eLearning and evaluative context. To maximize dissemination of learnings and plans developed using STXR RESPONDER and STX COMMANDER, the material presented through STX TACTICAL often entails scenarios and learnings derived from prior STX RESPONDER and STX COMMANDER simulations. Evaluations can be administered through STX TACTICAL offering centralized control and tracking of employee progress.
